How I Spend a Night In With Myself

I’m a self-confessed workaholic seven days a week who works anywhere from 10 to 12 hours per day. That totals to be somewhere between 70 to 80+ hours per week! Between editing, writing and social media work for clients, writing multiple works of fiction, maintaining my own social media presence and anything unexpected that life throws my way, I’m stretched pretty thin. I often sacrifice my social life, sleep, and healthy eating in order to get as much done as possible.

But no matter what, I’m only human. I can only work so much and so hard before I crack. That’s why I try to have nights in with myself to try and recharge the batteries. There are several steps I take to relax when spending a night in.

After taking out my contacts, I always go out of my way to take great care of my skin. If I have makeup on, I’ll make sure to get every last bit off. After that, I carry out the rest of my skincare routine.

These are the skin products I use on a night where I want to give it some extra TLC:

Once that’s done, I’ll change into my pyjamas and unwind by watching a few episodes of some shows on Netflix. It’s my favourite way to relax in bed.

These are some of my favourite TV to watch on Netflix:

  • Homeland
  • Scandal
  • Queer Eye
  • Ultimate Beastmaster
  • Suits

After this, I’ll read a chapter or two of whatever book I’m reading at the moment. When I’m too tired to keep my eyes open, I’ll finally go to sleep. All in all, it’s the perfect way to unwind after having worked so hard.

What’s your ideal way to spend a night in with yourself?
