19 Things I Learned Throughout 2019

With 2020 here and 2019 being a thing of the past, it’s time for me to look back and reflect on what I learned last year.

2019 was a rough year- I haven’t made that a secret, that’s for sure. But I’m proud of how I handled everything and how I somehow managed to pull through in order to make it fairly enjoyable. Through it all, I learned a ton about myself and life itself. That’s why I really want to share everything I learned last year because it was all so very important, albeit in various ways.

Without any further ado, here are the 19 things that I learned throughout 2019.

  1. Everyone processes grief differently.

  2. Time doesn’t heal all wounds (though it may heal some).

  3. Working for yourself is so much fun.

  4. Working for yourself is also beyond scary as hell.

  5. Going it alone is sometimes necessary.

  6. You don’t need to be in a relationship in order to be happy.

  7. Some family members aren’t worth being close to.

  8. Making big changes require a ton of planning.

  9. Self-care isn’t selfish; sometimes it’s necessary.

  10. Reading can be a fantastic escape.

  11. Write every single day.

  12. Crying is sometimes necessary.

  13. Spend more time with friends.

  14. Stop living for others and live for yourself first.

  15. Personal happiness is extremely important.

  16. It’s okay to have anxiety.

  17. Give yoga & meditation a try.

  18. Working out is so good in more ways than one.

  19. Be proud of your achievements- even when others aren’t.

There you have it- all 19 things I learned throughout 2019. I laughed, I cried and I smiled off and on. Throughout it all, I managed to pull through relatively unscathed- and that’s what matters at the end of the day. Here’s hoping that 2020 will be better in each and every way possible!
