A good and consistent morning routine is something that’s always stressed to us. But a good and consistent night routine is just as important. It can help you feel organized and can allow you to feel more well-rested for the next day. In other words, a good night routine can set you up for success in the morning.
If you don’t have a solid night routine or are looking to improve it, that’s what this blog post is here for. After all, a night routine that benefits you is incredibly important. Here are three tips to help you create a good night routine for yourself.
1. Disconnect From Electronics Beforehand
It’s really tempting to want to stay on your phone or laptop right up until you have to go to bed. But that’s honestly one of the worst things you can do. The blue lights from your screen will mess up the increase of melatonin, which is necessary for a good night’s sleep. As a rule of thumb, you should disconnect from all electronics between one hour to 30 minutes before you plan to go to bed. That will make going to bed much easier.
2. Prepare for the Next Day
Before you go to bed, you should be prepared for the next day ahead however necessary. Have your skincare products and makeup out beforehand so you can have it ready for when you need it. If you commute to work, have your entire outfit planned out the night before- shoes and accessories included. If you eat breakfast, either have what you need out or make it the night before (depending on what you’re having). Meals such as chia seed pudding and overnight oats are great options. The main point is to prepare for the next day the night before to make your morning easier.
3. Go to Bed at the Same Time Every Night
This is arguably the hardest tip to follow in creating a good night routine. After all, it’s not always possible to go to bed at the same exact time night after night. But if you’re able to, try to follow this practice as much as you can. Adults need six to 10 hours of sleep per night, so try to ensure that whenever you go to bed will allow you to get that amount of sleep. Your body will appreciate it!
