4 Books You Need to Read Right Now

I have to be honest- I’m not the biggest book reader. I own so many damn books about so many different things, yet I just never get around to reading any of them. I chalk that up to choosing to watch YouTube or TV instead, as that interests me a bit more, I suppose. This is why one of my resolutions for 2021 is to read more books, no matter what’s going on in my life.

That’s not to say that I don’t read whatsoever. If there’s a book that I love, I’ll read it as quickly as possible. That’s happened to me numerous times, and I really enjoy it. Everyone loves to get sucked into a good book- especially one that can benefit me in the long run.

If you’re looking to read something new, then you’ve certainly come to the right place! Here are four books that you need to read right now. I’ve read all of the books listed below, and they all are incredible in their own way. If you haven’t read any of them, you need to change that as soon as possible!

1. How to Get Sh*t Done – Erin Falconer

Not only do I love this book, I also love the author, Erin Falconer. I had the pleasure to interview her back in April 2020 (which you can read here), and it was such an insightful experience. It was as insightful as reading How to Get Sh*t Done. This book gives people tips to become more productive without burning out. I read a lot of great tips that I’ve implemented in my own life, and I’m all the better for it. So if you’re looking to improve your productivity, then you need to read this particular book!

2. Power Moves: How Women Can Pivot, Reboot, and Build a Career of Purpose – Lauren McGoodwin

Lauren McGoodwin is the founder of Career Contessa– a website where women can learn more career resources and so much more. Her website and platform is a wealth of knowledge- and her book is no different. Reading it gives you the opportunity to learn about career advice, bettering yourself personally, how to manage money better, and more. All of this is incredible valuable, and I found reading McGoodwin’s book to be an enriching experience. I feel like this book would be especially beneficial if you’re looking for some career advice. If that’s the case for you, then Power Moves is the perfect choice.

3. #FEELS – Kalyn Nicholson

Canada-born YouTuber Kalyn Nicholson has written several books of different genres- but #FEELS has stuck with me the most. It’s honestly not like any non-fiction book I’ve ever read before. Each chapter is named after a specific mood- both the positive and the negative ones. It’s not designed to read from cover to cover; rather, you read the chapter that fits whatever mood you’re currently dealing with. I’ve found that this book has helped me a lot, and I’m grateful for it. I highly recommend #FEELS if you’re looking for a book to help your feelings, regardless of what they may be.

4. #GIRLBOSS – Sophie Amoruso

I devoured this book in about two days. I’m not even a huge fan of autobiographies for the most part, but this one was incredible. It was great to learn about Sophie Amoruso, the founder of Nasty Gal. But I took away more than that- I learned a lot about business too. From starting a business to all of the aspects that come with running it and more, it was incredibly insightful to learn all about these things. #GIRLBOSS is an excellent pick- even if you’re not into Nasty Gal and/or aren’t looking for advice about running a business.
